Do I need a Prescription?

Yes, just like your local pharmacy we require a valid prescription from a physician licensed to practice medicine in in the US.

Can you fill prescriptions from American doctors only?

Yes – We fill prescriptions from American doctors only, who are duly licensed in the US.

What are Generic drugs and are they safe?

Generic drugs are "no brand name" drugs. Once a manufacturer has lost patent protection on a drug, other manufacturers are allowed to produce and sell the exact same medication at a significantly lower price. Generic drugs are subject to the same rigorous regulatory and approval process as brand name drugs and must provide the same therapeutic benefit as the brand name drug.

Who makes Canadian generic drugs and are they safe?

The generic drugs produced in Canada are subject to the same strict approval and regulation as brand name drugs – and are used by millions of Canadian citizens on a daily basis. The manufacturers of these generic drugs are large and well-respected companies. They include Apotex, Novopharm and Genpharm.

What if I don't want generic substitution, can I opt to have only brand-name drugs?

Yes. On the Patient History form, you may indicate whether or not generic substitution is acceptable.

What do I have to do in order to get started with CanAm Rx Discount Drugs?

In order to get started with us, you will be required to:

1. Visit your doctor and get new prescriptions for all of the items that you require - we cannot transfer prescriptions from the pharmacy that you may be dealing with now.
2. Next, you will be required to fill in our Patient History / Release / Prescription Order Form.
3. Once you have completed filling out this form, you will then either mail or fax it along with the new prescriptions to us.
4. Once we receive your information, it will be reviewed by a licensed Canadian doctor, signed and then sent to be filled and shipped - this can take up to 2-3 days.
5. From the time that the shipping department ships your prescriptions to the time that they should arrive at your home could take up to 10 business days provided there are no problems.
